I am excited to join the Ascent Academy team. I look forward to supporting our teachers so they can focus on helping students learn. 

I have had the privilege of being in education for over 30 years. I have been a teacher and administrator working in traditional as well as alternative settings. 

I was a peer tutor in high school and loved my time in that the classroom. I have always enjoyed helping students push themselves and find personal success. As a result of this experience and having a cousin with Down's Syndrome, I wanted to become a special education teacher. 

I earned my BS in Special Education at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana and moved to Utah from my hometown in Tennessee. In Utah, I continued my education at The University of Utah earning a MS in Special Education as a Behavior Specialist and a certificate in Educational Leadership and Policy.

I love building relationships with those around me and watching them grow and learn. Celebrating the little successes every day brings me joy!
