Hi there! I'm Megan Dufield — and I'm so excited to be part of the Ascent Academies family!

I actually started my journey at Ascent Academies Lehi as a student the very first year it opened. I attended through 9th grade before graduating from Lehi High School, and I’m currently working toward a Communications degree at Ensign College.

I come from a big, blended family — I’m the second youngest of eight siblings, and I have eleven adorable nieces and nephews (and yes, I proudly hold the title of favorite aunt).

I absolutely love creating! Art and photography are two of my biggest passions. In high school, I was part of the yearbook team for all three years and had the amazing opportunity to serve as head editor my senior year. That experience helped me develop leadership and teaching skills that I still use today!

These days, I’m always working on something creative. Right now, I’m obsessed with my junk journal — it’s a super fun way to turn everyday “junk” into meaningful art, and there are no rules, which makes it the perfect space for creative freedom. I also draw digital art on my iPad, and I’ve been making earrings and mini creations out of polymer clay for over 10 years! Fun fact: I even taught a polymer clay cluster at Ascent back when I was in junior high!

This is my fifth year teaching and assisting at Ascent, and I truly love it here.

A few of my favorite things include: Art (of course!), reading, music and podcasts, Disney, Star Wars, Marvel, mushrooms (yes, really, They are so cute!), cozy naps, and most of all — teaching!

In my Art class, we’ll cover the foundations of art, but also explore the creative process in fun and exciting ways. My goal is to make this class feel like a creative adventure — not just another subject with deadlines. You’ll get hands-on experience with polymer clay, 3D art, painting, drawing, and much more!

In Yearbook class, you’ll dive into everything that goes into making a yearbook — from photography to storytelling and design. It’s a more fast-paced class with real responsibilities and deadlines, but it’s also incredibly rewarding (and yes, still fun)!

I can’t wait to make this a memorable, creative, and inspiring year with all of you!
