My name is Mary Morel and I am thrilled to be the General Education Behavior Team Coordinator for this school year!

I attended Wake Forest University for an undergrad degree in Psychology and Neuroscience. I then attended the University of Utah for a graduate degree in Human Development and Social Policy, followed by another graduate degree from Arizona State University in Special Education with a concentration in Applied Behavior Analysis. I am now a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).

I truly love working with children and helping them thrive in a school environment. Charter schools like Ascent Academy allow us to individualize our interventions to each student. This is the best case scenario for students that might have behavior challenges, as we can really get to know them as a person and utilize their strengths to improve their behavior at school.

On the weekends, I love to ski! I try to go, at minimum, once every weekend during the winter months. I also adore my 8 year old puppy and enjoy taking her hiking and camping around Utah. Being from Atlanta, Georgia originally, I truly bask in the beautiful mountains!
