Biography

Hello students & parents. My name is Marina Gonzalez and I am your school counselor! This is my seventh year at Ascent and I am so excited to be a part of such an amazing school! I am looking forward to meeting my new students and continuing to work with returning students! 

I graduated from the University of Utah (Go Utes!) with a Masters in Educational Psychology. I also obtained my Bachelor’s degree in Sociology there. I absolutely love learning about other cultures! 

I was born in Mexico and raised in Los Angeles, California, so I am fluent in Spanish. I have been married to my husband for 37 years and we have four adult children and six amazing grandkids!  We also have a chihuahua named Itzi, so we get the family thing with pets.
