Makena Farnsworth

Second Grade

Hi! My name is Makena Farnsworth, and I am so excited to be teaching 2nd grade at Ascent Academy this year! I grew up in Hawaii and later moved to Utah to attend Weber State University, where I earned my degree in Elementary Education. I am currently pursuing my Master’s Degree and have spent the past six years teaching kindergarten.

One of my favorite parts of teaching kindergarten was helping students learn to read and watching their confidence grow. I am excited to continue helping students learn and thrive in 2nd grade.When I’m not at school, I enjoy spending time with my husband, our one-year-old son, and our dog, Maverik. I also love reading, crafting, traveling, and spending time outdoors.I can’t wait to meet my students and families and have a great year together!
