Kindergarten

Hi there!

I’m Kim Adams, and I’m so excited to be teaching kindergarten at Ascent Academy! My journey into teaching began as a substitute teacher, and it didn’t take long before I completely fell in love—with the classroom, the learning, and most of all, the amazing kids and families I got to work with.

That experience inspired me to go back to school and finish my degree. I graduated from Brigham Young University–Idaho in 2022 and landed my first full-time teaching job in 2nd grade that same year—what a dream come true! I’m joining Ascent Academy after teaching at another charter school around the mountain in Tooele County, and I’m thrilled to bring my experience and energy to this new adventure.

Over the past 10 years, I’ve served in a variety of roles in education: parent volunteer, teacher aide, substitute teacher, and now a proud full-time teacher. Every step has fueled my passion for teaching and confirmed that this is exactly where I’m meant to be.

I believe school should be a place where every child feels safe, loved, accepted, and excited to learn. My classroom is full of fun, laughter, music, bright colors, polka dots, and lots of love! I bring enthusiasm, kindness, patience, a little goofiness, and plenty of positive energy to everything we do. I truly believe that kids learn best when they’re having fun—so we work hard and play even harder!

Outside the classroom, I’ve been married to my husband since 2007. We live in Stansbury Park with our three amazing kids—one son and two daughters—who keep us busy with sports, dance, and everything in between. When I get a quiet moment, I love to dive into a good book and get lost in a great story.

I can’t wait for a fantastic year full of learning, laughter, and magical kindergarten moments. Let’s make it the best year ever!
