My name is Julie Wixom, and I am so happy to be working with our Essential Elements students here at Ascent. I joined the Ascent Saratoga Springs team in 2022, the first year, and it has been the best experience I have had teaching. I moved to Utah in 2020 from California, and embarked on my teaching career by substitute teaching. I subbed for some SpEd classes and that's where I found "my people." Watching them meet their goals and hit milestones that seemed almost impossible has been the most rewarding thing I could ever imagine. No matter how hard it is to get there, when they reach a goal it's the best feeling. I also get to work with the most amazing team in the history of the world. No hyperbole, that's just the truth. 

When I'm not here, I like hiking, camping, photography and yoga. I live in Eagle Mountain with my husband and my youngest son (my older two kids are all grown up and living their best lives in California) and our dogs. I love Utah so far and I feel lucky to be here at Ascent.
