Hi! My name is Heather Miller. I’m so excited to start this new school year at Ascent Academy. I have lived in Utah my entire life.  I graduated college with a degree in History teaching and minors in English and Political Science. I taught for five years (Kindergarten, 2nd grade, and 5/6th grade English) before staying home to have a family. I enjoy spending time with my husband, four kids (one daughter and three sons ages 18,16,14,and 12 years old), and our sweet dog Rey. I love traveling, reading, studying history, watching scary movies, debating current events, and attempting to keep up with all of my children and their crazy schedules and interests. My favorite place that I’ve visited is Paris, France and I would really like to visit Edinburgh, Scotland in the future. My favorite color is blue. My favorite food is sushi and anything involving chocolate. I love playing board games, going to museums, staying up late, sleeping in, dancing in the rain, and enjoying the chill of the autumn season and the colors of the changing leaves. My favorite thing about school is teaching children how to read and hearing all the smart and funny things kids have to say. I’m looking forward to an exciting school year full of learning, fun, and adventure.
