My name is Emily Jeppesen I am the Food Nutrition teacher at Ascent Academy, where I share my lifelong passion for cooking, baking, and helping students understand the importance of where their food comes from. With a creative approach to the kitchen and a deep belief in nourishing both body and mind, I aim to inspire my students to build confidence and curiosity around food.

Before joining Ascent Academy, I worked as an APE para and supported a small group kindergarten class, gaining valuable experience in education and child development. Prior to me working in schools, I ran a salon from my home while raising my four children, balancing entrepreneurship with motherhood.

I have been married for 18 years and am the proud mom of three sons and one daughter—three of whom currently attend Ascent Academy. As a family, we love spending time in Island Park, Idaho, and exploring Yellowstone National Park together.

I find joy in sharing not just the meals I make, but also the knowledge and love that go into them—with the hope of sparking a lifelong passion for food in every child I teach.
