Biography

I am excited to be returning to Ascent Academies of Utah - West Valley Campus as the Special Education Teacher Lead and having the opportunity to work with our special education team. This will be my 11th year in education. I have worked as an elementary special education teacher, middle school special education teacher, and have been a special education teacher lead at our West Valley Campus for the last four years. 

It wasn’t until I was in college that I realized that Special Education was the career path for me when I had the opportunity to work as a paraeducator for a local charter school in North Salt Lake. Being able to build relationships with the students and see their successes was amazing. 

I grew up in the Salt Lake Valley and currently reside in Magna with my husband and our daughter. I graduated from the University of Utah (Go Utes!) with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and later graduated from the University of Phoenix with a Master’s degree in Special Education.

When I am not at work I enjoy spending time with my family, doing random arts and crafts, and crocheting.
