Network Support

My passion for education started at a very young age, and it is because I was blessed by a handful of teachers who believed in me and showed me that I could do anything I set my mind to. I received my Bachelor’s in Sociology with a Minor in Education from the University of California, Santa Barbara. I  also obtained my Master’s Degree from the same school, in Elementary Education.

One of the many reasons why I joined the Ascent Team back in 2014 was because I strongly believe in the Network’s Mission and felt drawn to the ideas behind the School Wide Enrichment Model (SEM). I believe that education should focus on the individual child, as well as the classroom community as a whole. Every student comes from different learning experiences, has different learning styles, and comes from a different social and economic culture. Here at Ascent, we strive to use those differences to help each individual student grow and be successful in their learning. Students should be given more of a direct role in their education and learning; SEM allows students to do so.

I feel blessed to be part of your child’s educational journey through supporting our teachers and staff.
