Hey there! I am Cassidy Callister and I am so excited to get to join the Ascent Academy Special Education team. This will be my first year as a Special Education teacher and I can’t wait to help support all of these amazing students. Despite it being my first year, I have a total of 6 years of experience in education, in both the general education and special education classroom. Between volunteering to help teachers and getting hired on as a paraeducator.

 I got my Bachelors degree through Utah State University ( GO AGGIES!!!) in Special Education and Rehabilitation Counseling.  Nothing brings me more joy than getting to work alongside amazing educators and students.

Outside of the classroom I have an amazing family with lots of pets (3 dogs and 3 cats), they are all my pride and joy! Typically you can find me in the mountains year round. Hiking when there isn’t snow and snowboarding when there is. If I'm not outside enjoying nature, you can find me binge reading books, doing wordsearches, working on a diamond painting, painting with watercolors, growing my garden, or having a family game night with my husband and our son. I’ve lived in Utah my whole life and it is genuinely one of the most beautiful places.
