Biography
Carla Gruenewald
Kindergarten
Hi! I’m Carla Gruenewald, “Ms.G.”, and I’m thrilled to be a new member of the Ascent team!
I’m originally from Arizona and graduated from BYU in Spanish teaching. I was a stay home mom and raised my four kids on the border in El Paso, Texas. I returned to education and became a certified dyslexia/ reading practitioner in two Texas school districts.
After I moved to Utah, I taught first grade for seven years and loved it! I also obtained a Masters in Reading and Literature from the University of Utah. I’ve been tutoring struggling readers for 17 years and love to see kids learn to decode and the world of reading come to life for them.
I’m excited for this new opportunity to teach kindergarten at Ascent! In my free time I love to travel, watch movies and live theater, and spend time with my kids, friends and family. I don’t have grandkids yet, so I’m thrilled to have a bunch of adopted ones in kindergarten!
