Laura Richardson

Interventionist

Mrs. Richardson is excited to start another great year at Ascent Academy West Jordan!  She loves working with students, and is excited to be working with all grades as an interventionist. She will also spend some time working with teachers as an instructional coach.

Mrs. Richardson strives to create a positive, collaborative environment where students can ask questions, share accomplishments, and feel that they are learning and growing each day.  She looks forward to helping students throughout Ascent Academy learn, encouraging students to keep trying, and to find their inner genius.

Mrs. Richardson earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Brigham Young University rather a long time ago. After several years working in the private sector and raising a family, she returned to Western Governors University where she earned a Master of Arts in Teaching.

She was born and raised in Taylorsville, Utah, and now lives in West Jordan with her husband.  She has three children, and a border collie named Max. Her  family loves to watch movies, play board games, go camping, and take walks. Her hobbies include reading, audiobooks, Marvel movies, and puzzles.

She is looking forward to great adventures with your students this year!
